Harmony of the Seas is being called the world's biggest Floating Hotel

Some people like to go camping, hiking or rock climbing. Others prefer beaches, sunshine and cold drinks served on the beach. But there is one place that offers both, along with high class amenities, quality entertainment and the chance to explore new places, all at the same time. Of course, I’m talking about a cruise ship, with the size of a small city, roaming the seas of the Caribbean and beyond.

The Royal Caribbean, one of the most highly appreciated cruise operators of the world, is preparing to launch its latest Oasis-class vessel this year. It already has an impressive fleet, and the latest addition to it will be spectacular from all points of view. If you play online casino games, you might have stumbled upon the company before – one of the venues routinely offers seven-day cruises as top prizes in their summer promotional offer.

Harmony of the Seas

The latest addition to the company’s fleet is called Harmony of the Seas, and it is the largest such vessel ever to be built with its 227,000 gross tonnage – 2,000 tons bigger than its two sisters, the Oasis and the Allure of the Seas. The ship will have a huge capacity, capable of accommodating almost 5,500 passengers at the same time. It will take its maiden voyage in May.

Amenities

I said “floating hotel” above, but the term might not be the most appropriate – I should have called it a “floating city” instead. Even more so, as the cruise ship has seven neighborhoods to explore. Each neighborhood will feature a specific set of destinations, like bars, restaurants and entertainment venues like arcades and coffee shops.

The ship will feature several complimentary dining options, as well as a series of upscale venues for dining, with choices that include Asian, Mexican, Italian (Jamie Oliver style). Several of the decks have bars, offering a wide variety of styles – from English-style pubs to an open-air venue in the Central Park neighborhood.

Recreation and entertainment

Let me just put a list here: zip lines, water slides, a 10 stories high dry slide called The Abyss, miniature golf, three pools, an aqua park for kids, a two-deck adults only solarium, ice skating, stand-up comedy, karaoke, casino gaming, on-board musicals, spa and fitness amenities, and the list could go on and on.
